A new website

by Martin Aspeli last modified Aug 30, 2007 09:41 PM

Containing my blog and other information

In fact, you're looking at it!

I'd like to thank Luiz Eduardo Giampaoli of NeoDigital for kindly donating the server that this runs on.

I will use this site as my blog, to promote my book and host personal content.

In case you were wondering, this site is powered by Plone 3 with the NuPlone theme, ever-so-slightly customised. It runs Varnish 1.0 and Zope via a custom buildout. Please bear with me if you experience a few hiccups.

Plone. :-)

Each blog post is a News Item, the front page is Collection that shows published news items in reverse order. Commenting is the standard Plone commenting functinoality, though I've changed the 'Reply to item' permission so that Anonymous users can post. I also turned on 'about information' for anonymous users in Site Setup.

Could you please show me how to allow anonymous commenting on a plone 3.0 site. Thanks.

Problems with your blog trick

Posted by http://nicenemo.myopenid.com/ at Oct 27, 2007 10:56 PM
Hi,

I see two problems with your blog trick.

First it does not work well with LinguaPlone. As long as you do not have translated the blog collection and at least one blog entry, no blog entries are shown.

Second, being spoiled with using dedicated blogtool(b2evolution) i see no easy way to have the collection show the full blog entry.

For those just looking for a solution, with Drupal this works out of the box.
Plone Book

I have written a book called Professional Plone Development. You can read more about it here.
